Mission
To Provide efficient,
prompt & cost-effective
IT services for Ministry of Petroleum (MOP) and
its subsidiaries to enable the operational and
service units achieve their objectives and do
their current responsibilities.

1. Analysis , design , construction ,
test and implementation
of new enterprise application softwares.
2. Running the enterprise applications
by using communication
networks to give the full access to all
users of MOP's subsidiaries located in different
cities.
3. Maintainance of existing appliactions.
4. Act as main ISP (Internet Service
Provider) of MOP to provide
powerful, secure and fast Internet services
for all MOP users.
5. Giving consultation to different users
in the field of IT to meet their
requirements.
6. Providing necessary information to NIOC
managers.
7. Providing regular and ad hoc management information to
support their decision-making.
Capabilities and strengths
◊ Good knowledge and strengths to develop
the complex and integrated
softwares based on new information technology
such as: web-enabled applications, ERP,
E-commerce.
◊ More than 150 IT engineers with
good knowledge of
IT and familiar with the business procedures
of the oil industry .
◊ Powerful computer center which is connected
to more than
300 access points in different cities.
◊ This center is equipped with powerful hardware
and software as well as communication
facilities to let users have access
by lease line, dialup and internet.
Major successful projects :
◊ Design, construction & implementation
of new Material Management
System (MMS) based on new IT technology,
consisting of more than 4000 online programs.
This system has been successfully implemented
in more than 120 storages in NIOC, NIORDC and
NPC.
◊ Desing, construction & implementation
of new integrated
Human Resource System (HRS) based on new
technology, consisting of more than 2800 online programs.
This system has been successfully implmented
in major companies such as NIOC, NIORDC,
NIGC and NPC and their subsidiaries.
◊ Design, construction & implementation
of new cost accounting
system for all oil refineries consisting of more than
1500 online programs based on international costing
methods and extracting cost allocated data from enterprise
financial system.
◊ Investigation and selection of
the best process engineering
software packages requested by different operational
units in NIOC, NIORDC , NIGC and NPC- the HY- Protec softwares packages such as: HISYS
Process, Oil Manager, Amines, PIPESYS, HTFS, TASC,
ACOL, … have been selected and purchased for more
than 50 operation companies while providing thefull support
and training .
◊ Providing powerfull ISP to give
fast and secured internet
services to all users. Independent communication
dish with sufficient capacities have been
installed and more than 2000 users are recieving
internet
services.
Future plans
◊ Become Application Service
Provider (ASP) to provide all IT
services through intranet, internet and other
communication
media. By giving the above services all applications
and data
are located in central big and secured servers
and will be run as thin-client by using only internet
browsers without installing any other softwares
on clients.
◊ Providing Enterprise Resource
Planning (ERP) to be used
by all users in Ministry of Petroleum. Any ERP
has different
integrated modules to plan and manage all enterprise
resourses . As mentioned, two of main and key
ERP modules have been designed, constructed and
implemented
in MOP by our department and other modules
such as financial systems, and order processing, …
will be developed in the near future.
◊ Expand our internet and intranet
facilities to give online
services such as e-mail, VOIP, WAP, E-Auctions
to all
employees in MOP and its subsidiaries.
