Oil Ministry Implementing Public-Interest Projects

An official said the Oil Ministry is currently engaged in executing 378 projects in different sectors of education, medical treatment, sports, culture and services.

   

Hossein Shahaboddin, in charge of the Projects to Help Develop Oil-Rich Regions Organization, said more than 858 billion rials of credit will be spent on the implementation of the projects.

He said the projects will be executed in different provinces including Ilam, Bushehr, Kharasan, Qom, Kermanshah, Lorestan, Fars, Khuzestan, Kermanshah and Kohgilouyeh and Boyer Ahmad.

Shahaboddin added that according to a Cabinet ratification, four Oil-Ministry-affiliate companies have been obligated to execute different projects in deprived provinces across the country.

“The companies include the National Iranian South Oil Company, the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company, the National Iranian Gas Company and the National Iranian Oil Company,” he said.

The official noted that the Oil Ministry is trying to make a balance between its oil projects and public-interest projects in oil-rich regions.

He said the Oil Ministry is obligated to improve the standards and quality of life in oil-rich areas, adding that great achievements have been made in this regard in recent years.
