The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) website quoted Gholam Hussein Babadi as saying that the company currently produces 131,000 bpd, adding, that "the production will increase to 148,000 bpd as four other wells will be drilled."
"The drilling of the wells in Haftkal, Ghalenar, and Zilaei oilfields have already begun and will become operational by this yearend," he said.
Referring to the ongoing projects of the company, he said some oil wells will be revitalized in Masjed Soleiman and several pressure-boosting and desalinizing facilities will be installed in Haftkal while some production units will be also set up in Lab Sefid oilfields.
Masjed Soleiman Oil and Gas Production Company is currently engaged in establishing 10 reservoirs in Masjed Soleiman, Par Siyah, Anbal, Karoun, Zilaei, Naft Sefid, Haftkal, Lab Sefid, Ghalenar, and Kabud oilfields in the southern oil-rich province of Khuzestan.
Masjed Soleiman Oilfield is Iran’s oldest oil-producing unit which started operating a century ago.
