Director for research and technology of the National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC), Mohammad Reza Tahmasebi-Birgani said the parts are highly used in the drilling and pumping industries.
He said more than 8,000 parts have been produced since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 20) by domestic producers, adding that 10,000 other parts have been also estimated to be manufactured by this yearend.
Tahmasebi-Birgani said his department is cooperating with the universities across the country in implementing research projects in the oil-industry-related areas.
He noted that the National Iranian Drilling Company has announced 12 research priorities in the current year, calling on universities to participate in the company’s research projects.
Tahmasebi-Birgani said the projects aim at boosting the efficiency of the company’s telecommunications, electricity systems, drilling equipment and project management skills.
He noted that the NIDC also conducted 15 research projects last year in cooperation with Iranian universities in different strategic sectors of research and development, information and communications technology as well as drilling fluids.
The National Iranian Drilling Company is affiliated to the National Iranian Oil Company, which is responsible for drilling operations in the country’s oil and gasfields.
