Two Iranian companies have entered into a joint contract to conduct drilling operations in two platforms of phases 17 and 18 of the South Pars Gasfield.

Pars Oil and Gas Company and the National Iranian Drilling Company have been obligated to drill 81 wells in the South Pars Gasfield in 3.5 years time.

The National Iranian Drilling Company will implement the executive operations while Pars Oil and Gas Company is the supervisor of the projects.

Some 50 million cubic meters of natural gas, 80,000 barrels of gas minerals and 400 tons of sulfur will be produced on a daily basis in phases 17 and 18 of the South Pars Gasfield.

Also, one million tons of ethane and more than one million tons of propane and liquefied natural gas will be exploited from phases 17 and 18 of the gasfield.

The South Pars Gasfield is located in the southern port city of Assalouyeh in Bushehr province.
