The managing director of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) says the projects to develop small independent oil and gas fields will be assigned to local contractors.

Seifollah Jashnsaz says Iranian Central Oil Fields Company is responsible for development of small onshore oil fields and has provided the NIOC with the list of suitable local companies to undertake the job.

There are at least 10 small independent oil fields in Iran’s central regions that can be developed by local contractors.
