Further cooperation and stronger relationship is emphasized between Tehran and Ankara by Iran's Oil and Power Ministries and Turkish Natural Resources and Energy Ministries in a joint declaration.

Mahmud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian President, accompanied with the Iranian oil minister, Gholam Hossein Nowzari, and some other ministers set out to Istanbul on Thursday to meet and negotiate with Turkish high officials.

The visit is aimed at strengthening the relations between the two counties.

The declaration reads, "Given the priority of energy section in economic development and its key role in commercial and economic relations of Iran and Turkey, the two countries are determined to support and implement more projects on gas and electricity."
